What was a typical week like in your internship position?
As a legal Intern in the Undergraduate Student Legal Aid Office, I perform in-take interviews, maintain all administrative records and correspondence, and consult with the attorney when necessary.
What do you enjoy most about your current position?
Thus far, I enjoy collaborating with a team of diverse individuals to help UMD students acquire legal advice - at the attorney’s discretion.
How did your coursework help you in your internship?
Both GVPT331 - Courts, Laws, and Judges and GVPT 431 - Constitutional Law, prepared me for the internship. Having an understanding of how the court system works in Maryland and the United States allows me to navigate the internship with confidence.

Advice for students:
Don’t be afraid to accept an opportunity that may be different than your previous internship opportunities or major. It is good to gain varying experience. Also, make meaningful connections with fellow interns, your supervisor, and others in the office. These connections are great to have
