What was a typical week like in your internship position?
In a typical week, I come into the office and check if there is any mail. Every day after that is honestly different depending on if I have tasks I am already working on or not. If I have stuff I am already working on then I get started on that. If not, I go to one of my bosses and see what there is to do. Every other week we have a team lunch where the whole office eats together and there are also the occasional meetings.
What do you enjoy most about your current position?
I enjoy the people and the working environment. Everyone is so friendly and wants to see me succeed. They are also very good about giving feedback and are always open for me to ask questions.
How did your coursework help you in your internship?
It has prepared me on how to properly do research and communicate with others. Being able to learn how to work in a team environment has been very useful.
How did you locate your internship position?
I found it through a LinkedIn search.
Advice for students:
I would make sure you read through as many aspects of the positions as possible and use a vast LinkedIn search to find things. I also used the career center for searching advice and that was helpful. At the internship, I would advise people to not be afraid to ask questions and always be curious about trying new things.
Anything else you want to share with students about your experience?
Doing an internship for credit has been one of the best class choices I have made.
