What was a typical week like in your internship position?
A typical week consists of attending meetings, planning career fairs, screening and sourcing candidates, as well as working on individual projects. For the most part, my days are full of a mix of working on scheduling interviews, attending interviews, and sourcing for new candidates.
What do you enjoy most about your current position?
I enjoy how collaborative the work is and how often I get to meet and work with new people. I really enjoy working on projects with others and getting to learn from others.
How did your coursework help you in your internship?
My coursework has helped me understand the reasoning behind certain things. In particular understanding what motivates people and knowing at what stage in life people are has helped me gain a deeper understanding of recruitment.
Advice for students:
I recommend that students take initiative and try to start your own projects. One of the biggest highlights of my internship has been to pitch my own ideas and get to see them become reality. Don’t be afraid to pitch your own ideas and ask to try new things.
