Travel Options
Visitor Parking is available on the ground floor of Mowatt Lane Parking Garage. You may also park in Union Lane Garage as an alternative.
Parking Validation: Parking can be paid at the Pay Stations or by using the ParkMobile app. Additional parking information. Visitor parking runs $4/hour. Validate or pay for your parking BEFORE you leave the garage to walk over to Tydings Hall. How to use the Pay Station. *Note, if a Pay Station is not working, please locate another one to try. Stations are usually located near the stairwells. If you experience a persistent issue, you may call the Department of Transportation for guidance at 301-314-3687 (DOTS).
If you arrive between 7 am and 4 pm, park in a numbered space, and payment is required. The space number will be marked on the ground or on a small sign in front of the space.
- Park in a space with a number in any pay station-controlled area; signs will indicate such areas on campus.
- Remember your license plate number; you will need to enter it at the station.
- Locate the closest pay station.
- Press [OK] button to start.
- Select a payment method (card or validation pin code).
- Enter your license plate number.
- Enter the amount of time.
- Insert payment (card or validation pin code).
- Take the receipt.
NOTES:
**Please note that campus traffic can get very busy as students walk to classes. You may wish to add 15-20 minutes to your journey to allow for extra travel time.
**If you arrive at 4 pm or after, parking is free in all non-numbered spots on the upper floors (Lot U2).
**If you receive a ticket for any reason, the Feller Center is not responsible for paying the fine. Please follow the instructions carefully and ask if you have any questions
If using this method to get to campus, the Tydings Hall street address is 7343 Preinkert Drive, College Park, MD 20742. This can be used in a GPS for directions.
The University of Maryland has a metro stop on the Washington DC Metro Line. To get to our campus, use the College Park/Univ. of Maryland stop on the Green Line. When you exit the metro, wait at the UMD bus stop and take the free UMD 104 bus to campus. The closest stop to Tydings is in front of the Stamp Student Union at the Campus Drive, Math Slip stop. Please review the metro and UMD bus schedules for exact schedule times and view a map of the campus.
Visiting the Feller Center
WALKING DIRECTIONS: From Mowatt Lane Garage to the Feller Center, Tydings 2nd floor
Exit the Mowatt Lane Parking Garage on the Preinkert Drive side. Upon exiting, head left on Preinkert Drive up the hill until you see a large parking lot on your right. Cross the street to enter the parking lot and proceed up the hill past Morrill Hall. Tydings Hall is located just beyond Morrill Hall on your right.
Enter through the white doors on the main level of the building. Take the staircase up one flight to the 2nd floor, or use the elevator located to the right of the white exterior doors. As you exit the stairway or the elevators, turn to your left, and you will find the Feller Center in Suites 2148 and 2118 at the end of the hall.
Accessible Parking
Visitors and vehicles displaying state-issued disabled parking identification may park in designated visitor spaces, including ADA-accessible spaces. Parking in campus lots that begin with a letter or number during restricted hours is not permitted. This includes accessible spaces.
At pay station spaces: Guests with disabilities may park at any visitor pay station space, including spaces that are marked as ADA accessible. Parking payment is required.
